Search Engine Optimization - Top 5 Google Optimization Techniques!

This short article offers valuable information about Search Engine Optimization. And there are many more like this, giving even more valuable content about Search Engine Optimization, Page Rank and Link Popularity.

A webpage, in order to achieve a good position on Google, must have a good on page relevance regarding the products or services it provides. Below we'll explain the top 5 Google optimization factors you should have in mind when working on your pages.

For better understanding of the optimization advice shown below, we'll use an example of a website that sells Search Engine Optimization for Websites. The keyphrase we'll use is "Search Engine Optimization".

1) Page titles
The site would contain a tag like this:<br> <title>Search Engine Optimization Tips

The title content is based on the keyword we chose earlier, the keyword should be contained at least once and the title shouldn't be any longer then 60 characters. If you can make the title seven words or less, without "and" and "for", you're better off. Google places heavy emphasis on this TAG.

2) Heading Tags
Our "Search Engine Optimization" website will have "headings" like the one below:

Put Key Words in Headings

The headings make the browser display the text larger, makeing it different from the rest of the text. Search engines will look for and index the headings when they index the pages on our site, so our headings should ALSO contain the main key word phrases for our site, like this:

and so on through as many headings (in this case our products for sale) as we can think of that we want to include on that page. Headings like that are weighted heavily in the search engines -- many of them use a formula that "likes" the keywords in headings more than elsewhere in the site. To make the heading look better you can use the code bellow:

This will make a small heading with no space after it!

3) Keyword density and frequency
The optimized page should contain text of at least 250 words, with "Search Engine Optimization" occurring several times in the beginning of the text. The more text on a page the better results.

Putting the keyphrase near the end of the text also helps. SEs also use a factor called "keyword density" to determine the relevancy of a page, higher density is better but not to high.

4) The Picture ALT Tag
Every picture can and should have the "ALT tag", a small description of what is in the picture, put here the keyphrase if it's appropriate. The description is displayed if you hold the mouse for a few seconds over the picture or the picture could not be displayed.

5) Link/anchor text
The hypertext links on your site usually look something like this:

If the link points to the Search Engine Optimization page. When someone puts the cursor over the link, they will see what you put in the title. These "titles" for the anchor tags get indexed by the search engines. Every little bit helps! Make sure the words that you wrap the anchor tag around are keywords, too, whenever possible.
